Information on the processing of personal data under the GDPR.

Who processes your data

The controller of your personal data is KARVIT s.r.o., company ID 14027682, registered office Pod Homolkou 176/4, 150 00 Prague 5, Czech Republic, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague, section C, file 358880. What data we process and why

  • Enquiries and communication – name, company, e-mail, phone and the content of your message, so that we can prepare a quote and reply (steps prior to entering into a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Performing the order – contact and billing details and the documents you send us for translation, proofreading or interpreting (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Accounting and tax – data on invoices and contracts (legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
  • Protecting our rights – order communication and documentation to the necessary extent (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

How long we keep data

Enquiries that do not result in an order are kept for no longer than 1 year. Order data are kept for the duration of the contract and then for the period required by accounting and tax law or necessary to protect our rights. Documents for translation are kept only as long as needed to complete the order unless agreed otherwise (for example for a translation memory).

Who has access to the data

Data may be processed by our translators, proofreaders and interpreters working on the order, who are bound by confidentiality, and by our web hosting and e-mail provider, accountant and tax advisor. We do not sell your data or share it for marketing purposes.

AI translations are processed by our own model on our own server. Texts are not passed to any cloud AI service.

Cookies and analytics

The website does not use advertising or analytics cookies without your consent. If Google Analytics is enabled, it only starts after you click “Allow”, and you can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Just write to karvit@karvit.cz.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, uoou.gov.cz) or with the supervisory authority in your country.
